Þórgunnur Anna Örnólfsdóttir is an Icelandic vocalist and performer based between Copenhagen and Reykjavík. She is classically trained and performs in a wide range of early to contemporary music, but has found her niche in performing new music. She enjoys working closely with composers and has premiered well over twenty five pieces which comprise both operas, solo pieces, as well as chamber music composed for her trio KIMI ensemble.

Þórgunnur has performed as a soloist with e.g. The Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, Århus Sinfonietta (DK), BIT20 Ensemble (NO) and at festivals such as Bang on a Can (US), Tête à Tête opera festival (UK), Venice Biennale (IT), et al.. She has interpreted operatic roles such as Dido and Ariodante, and was nominated as “Singer of the year“ in 2025 at Gríman, the Icelandic acting awards, for her role in the new Icelandic opera Brím. Þórgunnur has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from The Royal Danish Academy of Music where she studied with Marianne Rørholm, Hanna Hjort and Helene Gjerris.
